LumoraTech is a team of Japanese engineers in Tokyo working where AI meets production software. We pair applied AI work — retrieval, agents, evaluation — with the full-stack and data engineering that always has to exist around it, for clients in Japan and abroad.
Why LumoraTech exists
LumoraTech started from a shared frustration: the best AI products weren't being built by teams that only understood models, and they weren't being built by teams that only understood software. They needed engineers who could work across both — designing agent and retrieval architectures while also shipping the APIs, interfaces, and deployment pipelines around them.
Our founding engineers spent years building web applications and data systems inside Japanese companies across very different domains — learning how to structure codebases, design APIs, model data, and ship products people use every day. When we came together in Tokyo in 2022 and moved into AI engineering, that shared foundation became the advantage. Production AI is never just the model; it is the entire system around it.

Today LumoraTech works as a small senior team across AI and full-stack engineering. We build retrieval pipelines, multi-agent systems, and LLM-powered applications — and we design the APIs, databases, deployment pipelines, and monitoring that keep them reliable once they are live. Covering that whole span with one team is what makes the work hold up.
